- Short Biography:
Schwarzwaelder has no memory of her biological family, and in the chaos of war there is no way to know her true origins. Having been secretly sheltered in Ishgard during the majority of her childhood, she has accumulated vast knowledge on practically any subject available, and a never-ending thirst for knowledge. It's only five years after the Calamity that she's finally able to put in practice what she's learned, and gain much needed experience of the outside world.
This unusual background proves to be both her greatest strength and deepest weakness.
While at first very shy and self-conscious of her appearance (due to being one of the rare Au ras present in Eorzea), her travels help her become more confident with herself.
Perceiving Ishgard as both the cause of her ruin as well as that of her salvation, she's learned to see past emotions and the fragile principles brandished by nations. Instead, Schwarzwaelder focuses more on the wrong that has been done, and which reparations can be made to ease the sorrow, even if the issue is often a lot more complex than it seems.
Naturally, due to the very nature of her role and abilities, that means she constantly questions her actions and decisions, and is very conscious of how much blood is on her hands, both from foes and allies.
Paired with her endless curiosity, this lack of a real place to call "home" allows her to accept and be accepted almost seamlessly in all sorts of cultures. She thus became a well-respected figure in most nations, tribes, and even with dragons, not just for her grandiose, selfless actions, but thanks to her deep respect and interest in the local affairs and traditions.
But likewise, this makes it difficult for her to find a place to belong, and the burden of the title of "Warrior of Light" only amplifies this feeling of estrangement, even among the Scions. While she accepts her duty as it is, Schwarzwaelder is uncomfortable with how much attention, praise and hate she gets for it, and puts a lot of effort into showing others she thinks of herself as a person much like anyone else, with their qualities and downsides.

This website is more or less a blog for me to record my experience in Final Fantasy XIV, and ponder over Schwarzwaelder Torte, my main character.
It will include both:
- Personal character lore I feel comfortable sharing, glamour sets, screenshots, etc.
- Articles about my own thoughts on themes presented in the story, Spicy Takes that are not suited for social media (both due to the format and the audience...) and potentially guides...?
So it's not intended for roleplay. The Journal section is also written in third person to mark that distinction.
I don't expect this website to be widely popular or read at all, and like most blogs, this is mostly a way for me to organize and formulate my thoughts for my own benefit.
But if you're curious to know more about Schwarzwaelder Torte, or what my opinions are on various topics... this is the place!
I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV since 2017. A friend insisted that I play the free trial, and I was convinced when I saw the Astrologian artwork and its fancy witch hat.
While I was pretty casual the first years, and only interested in the story, with the end of the Stormblood patches I became interested in raiding, and finally set free the beast in me called completionism.
Needless to say, while I'm not an expert in any area, I have since dabbled in most of the content this game has to offer...
I'm also officially A Mentor™. But don't ask me questions about any job lol (except RDM).
is that too narcissistic...
