This is usually where I start (or where Google leads me) when I'm looking for specific information about in-game items. It's like the official
Eorzea Database, but much more detailed and practical to use.
The Balance offers extended guides on how to optimize your DPS rotation, which gear is "Best in Slot", as well as tips and macros for crafting and gathering.
I am aware that there have been issues with the main staff in the past, but unfortunately I can't find any alternatives, and this remains the best way to get the info
you need when it comes to end game content.
The official r/ffxiv Discord server.
I literally only use this for the #translations-and-liveletters channel, where very dedicated people directly translate Live Letters and interviews to the best of their abilities.
Very useful if you want to watch the Live Letter streams and don't understand Japanese.
A Discord webhook that will automatically post Lodestone news of your choice on your Discord server. This is the best way to stay up to date with patch notes, seasonal events
and planned maintenances!
As far as I'm aware this is the hunting tracker that's currently the most used, at least on European Data Centers. If you want pings for hunt trains and S ranks check their Discord server.
End Game Raiding Basics (WIP)
A short guide I wrote for an old casual static about things to remember when you're raiding.
One of the most popular references when it comes to Savage and EX strategies. Parties in Party Finder will often use this by default,
unless they specify another strategy, like Ilya Dalamiq's.
I highly, HIGHLY recommend checking these guides out before queueing sync on any EX trial.
Make your own animated diagrams and share them with your party. Can be quite time consuming depending on how much effort you wanna put into it, but it's fun.
Good guide to understand the basics of this PvP mode. Armed with this knowledge you will fare a lot better than most inexperienced players, and use Oppressors the way they
are intended to be played (sob).
If you plan on going on big crafting/gathering sprees, be it to make gil, to redecorate your house, or simply for achievements, this is it. Some people might prefer
Garland Tools, which might have more versatility, but I understand the UI a lot more in Teamcraft.
I honestly wish something similar existed for meal planning and grocery lists...
If you too lost your mind when you realized what the real core gameplay of Island Sanctuary was, this will make things a lot easier!
The Overseas Casuals discord server is a great place to find daily and weekly recommendations for your workshop, ask questions and see resources for other
aspects of your Island Sanctuary.
There used to be a Twitter bot, but it is now defunct unfortunately.
With this there's no more need to ask on every Ocean Fishing trip which bait to use. All the info you need is here, the rest is down to luck, patience, and good GP management.
HGXIV started as a small podcast and livestream by veteran housing designers, and has now become a full-fledged housing resource with guides,
step by step tutorials, and community spotlights.
So far I've mostly been using FFXIV Housing to check all the furniture available (since not all of it can be
found in the Preview feature), but Housing Collection provides much more in-depth information and pictures of each item, which can be very useful if you're after specific
shapes or textures.
A new-ish housing website that collects Twitter housing posts and generates creator portfolios. The housing community relying heavily on social media, this is another
great way to gather inspiration if you're interested in a specific designer's work, or if Housing Snap wasn't enough.
I'm regularly on the hunt to find inspiration for portraits and aventure plates, and I decided to put the snapshots I gathered here. Includes my own portraits too!
A very popular website for the English speaking playerbase when it comes to glamour. Lots of people start here when they need inspiration for an outfit.
A nice way to introduce your WoL to the world. It includes a lot of options already, but if you're a little bit tech savvy you can also edit the HTML and CSS to customize it
to your liking. Another popular card creator is FFXIV Characa, widely used in Japan.
An absolute must if you're planning on doing Eureka. Check in /shout if someone already has a tracker running, otherwise make one and share it with people in your instance.
A very good summary of all there is to do and know in Bozja, including the infamous Castrum Lacus Litore, Lost Actions, and Delubrum Reginae. For duels, if you'd like to try
them the "legit" way I recommend these video guides, otherwise if you just want to cheese them
this guide is for you.
The all-in-one tracker for achievement hunters. Also includes rankings and shows you which things you own are the rarest, if you're into that sort of thing.
FFXIV Collect is another pretty popular achievement tracker, albeit it doesn't include a log for fish (yet?). The Triple Triad section also allows people to share their
decks and strategies against specific NPCs.
A must-need if you plan to level your squadron or send it on specific missions.
A lazy guide to fast GC promotion (WIP)
I wanted more FC rooms to decorate so I leveled 7 alts to 50 and promoted them to Second Lieutenant. This guide is how I did it, but maybe there's more optimal ways.
A lazy guide to GATEs (WIP)
This is more of a collection of other guides I've grouped together, but you get the idea.
A 12min guide to get you started with learning Mahjong. I learned by watching this THREE HOUR guide instead
but really, the 12 min guide covers everything you need.
The rules might look very intimidating at first, but remember that this is a game that heavily relies on luck, so don't be too hard on yourself
if you can't get first place. Try to not rely too much on the hint AI, it goes for specific hands and most players will tell you it's... not very good.
I also recommend Mahjong Soul if you want
to practice out of the game! It's a gacha full of anime girls with some fan service tendencies, but you can safely ignore all of it and just focus on the actual game. So far I've actually played more in Mahjong Soul than in FFXIV...
A lazy guide to Chocobo Races (WIP)
Again this is mostly a collection of other guides, and helpful advice I got from other players.
A gardening database to learn how to crossbreed, fertilize and take care of your plants. Very niche content, but can very quickly become a huge profit if you know what
you're doing.
Trello is a widely used management tool. I was already familiar with it through my studies and jobs.
I first started using it for FFXIV in 2018, when planning a remodeling of our FC house (and I didn't know about other resources yet).
Since then my dedicated board evolved quite a lot, and it helps me keep track of dailies, weeklies, new content I want to do, retainers, alts and what they have in their pockets, friends who keep changing names, etc.
I highly recommend setting up something similar, it helps a lot to organize and prioritize game content you're interested in!
If Trello is not your thing, maybe you're already familiar with another management tool that can do a similar job, we all have our preferences.
If you plan on using Google services for FFXIV and you care about your privacy, create a new dedicated account!
(seriously so many people accidentally leak their real names)
This remains the most straightforward way to organize with the people you're playing, be it to schedule raid days or check who's still missing the loot they are after.
I used to have "excelphobia" but now I have my own 3 sheets that I can't live without. It's not that scary! Learn how to add checkboxes, conditional formatting, and do basic math operations, and it will save you tons of time!
